How to Manage Your Time

In today’s age , we all know how time is important in our lives. We all value our time , still it becomes a herculean task for us to manage time. We must learn to manage our time and be productive in all aspects pf life. No one can recover lost time. Let us learn how can we manage our time in an efficient way .

#1 Set up an alarm clock

This is probably a naΓ―ve way of managing time just like old school but still works the best every time. This is the basic formula of starting the day for any individual to be productive through out the day. Once you wake up regularly based on alarm clock, you will not need alarm clock anymore. The reason is that your biological clock will wake you up at almost same time as the alarm clock.

#2 Do your homework

In our childhood days, we are inundated with home work by our school teachers. We used to think when we would get rid of this homework. But the bottom line is if you want to productive in any phase of life, you need to do your homework. The childhood home work is given by your teacher and as a working professional in any field, you need to do your homework alone and this can put you ahead of your peers. Homework is necessary, spending thirty minutes of time to plan for next day’s task will always make you productive.

#3 Watch less Television to manage your time

I believe television sometimes kills our time. Some meaningless television soaps, serials keep us glued to the TV neglecting our household activities. You must optimise your time in watching TV programs. I guess one should watch news and sports.News keeps you updated with the knowledge, technology, entertainment, events around the globe and sports definitely keep you mentally fit and fresh rather than watching useless TV serials. You can watch movies in the weekend and relax when you have leisure time.

#4 Early Sleep

Sleeping early is the best way to manage your time. It helps you to wake up early and be productive at the same time. Minimum 6-8 hours of sleep is necessary, thus you need proper sleep to be productive at work the next day.

#5 Avoid using mobile during work

This is very important if you want to productive. With the advent of technology, our lives are impacted in both positive and negative ways. Mobiles are distractions especially at work. It’s your mobile, you are free to use it anytime. But during work , mobiles are nothing but distraction. In order to better manage your time, you need to stay focussed and complete your task . Only then check your mobile during the break time.

#6 Plan and segregate your task

Always have a check list and break down your task by proper planning. Divide your task into modules and finish one module at a time. Remember whatever task you are assigned , you need to utilize your time in efficient manner and only you can segregate your tasks and know how much time will it take to wrap up the assigned task.

#7 Take little break during work

Don’t forget to take break during course of work. Taking breaks is also a proper to make your time productive. Don’t just work non stop all the time. Your brain needs a break and a little break from work won’t hamper your task. You can have a little snack ,coffee, fruit juice or whatever you prefer during the break time. It will energise you to work more productively.

Conclusion

Thus utilize your time properly and always plan before working on any task. If you have other options of managing your time, feel free to share in the comments.
