Find Inspiration in Writing when Running out of Ideas!

If you are a writer, sometimes you run out of ideas and keep waiting for your writing inspiration to kick in. I suggest never wait for inspiration to move past writer’s block. Always look out for inspiration , seek for inspiration. If you wait, ideas may not pan out and you will be frustrated. So in this article, I will be discussing about all the ways to find your writing inspiration and mojo.

#1 Reading

Reading

This is the best way to find writing inspiration. Reading multiple books automatically opens the door way to your own creative ideas and you can build several stories out of it. To be a successful writer, you must read a lot of books of different genres. As a reader one must not have a particular taste. Reading explores mind and vision. As a writer, you can be selective of particular genre but reading should have no boundaries.

#2 Music

This is my personal favourite. Music is one of the most important essence of life. It serves as a catalyst to the creative ideas emanating from the mind. You must have different playlist with different moods to write stories of different genre. If you are creating a death scene in your book, listen to a sad song. Similarly, you can use house music if you trying to create fictional concepts of mystical islands, planet. But as said, it all depends on your choice of songs. I personally use deep house music and movie instrumental to get my creative ideas flowing.

#3 Nature – Source of Writing Inspiration

nature

If you are running out of ideas, just go to some hill station, beach and I am pretty sure you’ll come up with lot of creative ideas. Looking through the nature, you will come up with bright ideas which you may not have realized in your busy urban life.

#4 Blog

When you are in the blogging world and following amazing bloggers, you are bound to learn lot of new stuffs. The journey and stories of the bloggers can create a spark in your mind and you may come up with lots of creative ideas.

#5 Movies

When watching any movies, it’s our innate nature to predict the next scene but when you find that your creative thoughts and ideas are much better, you can write an amazing story out of the scene itself which just popped on your mind while watching the movie. Movies are great sources of inspiration in writing.

#6 Hobbies

If you want to seek inspiration in writing, work on your hobbies. You definitely must have some hobbies which keep you busy in your leisure time. Thus if you like to play any musical instrument or you love dancing , just go with the flow and rhythm. You will be inundated with lot of creative ideas that can give you writing inspiration.

# 7 Visit a crowded place

busy place

If you are getting bored at home, simply visit a nearby crowded place. It can be grocery store, market store, sport ground or whatever . Just take a small stride around and come up with great writing ideas. Observe the surroundings and come up with ideas.

#8 Writing prompts

There are so many articles in the internet regarding writing prompts if you really don’t come up with any ideas. Writing prompts are great way to start with. This is one of the basic ways of finding inspiration in writing.

#9 Writing journal

If you are a writer , you need to keep a writing journal with you all. Creative ideas doesn’t come easily. Sometimes having the journal acts a boost to inspire you with new ideas . So writing journal has to be with you. You need to record your ideas on the journal whenever ideas pop on your mind.

#10 Inspirational Figures

Look out for success stories about inspirational figures. The story of their struggles can motivate you to pen down an amazing story. There are so many inspirational figures in history whose life stories have the abilities the inspire people around the globe. My personal favourite inspirational figure is Mother Teresa.

Conclusion

There are so many ways to get inspiration in writing apart from the one mentioned above. As stated before, just seek for your writing inspiration and don’t wait for it.
